Volunteer with the Visual Analytic (VA) Challenge Group!

Posted by: liacosco | September 13, 2011

In today’s digitized world our ability to collect vast amounts of data on just about anything is only increasing.  But in order to be able to gain any useful insights into these vast datasets new techniques of analysis must be developed.  Visual Analytics (VA) is one of these techniques where analytic tools combine information visualization, computer science, visual perception, and analytic reasoning to explore large, complex datasets.

Learn more about this exciting new field and get experience with cutting edge VA tools and techniques by joining the VA Challenge group!  The purpose of the group is to gain knowledge about the interaction between different VA techniques and types of data, while at the same time providing students with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in visual data analysis.

Students can get involved by volunteering, through directed studies research courses, and for the more experienced students with some of the exciting internship opportunities with our industry and academic partners.
